London to Leeds

Bringing London startups to Leeds

Throughout 2017,  Stuart Clarke, together with Leeds City Council, will be bringing startups from London to Leeds, so they can see the best of what this modern digital city has to offer.

We’ll be showing them around co-working spaces, introducing them to Leeds-based startups and tech companies, and showing them round the many shops, restaurants and bars that Leeds is famous for. We’ll also have a tour of personal accommodation, to highlight the value-for-money that can be found here.

If you’re a London start-up and you’re thinking of expanding but London is becoming too expensive, get in touch with us. Places are limited so don’t hang around.

Leeds has just hosted the North’s Largest Digital Festival, with 115 events attended by over 10,000 people. Found out more here.

Moving your business to Leeds

In London, founders of startups generally find it easier to access financial and operational support, from funders, accelerators and Government-sponsored vehicles such as TechCity. However, the costs of growing a startup in London are forcing many startups to look outside the city as increasing office and accommodation costs, plus the higher salaries of additional staff, are making it difficult for them to expand. 66% of London startups consider relocation within twelve months of starting up.

One key reason for looking at moving is the price of personal accommodation. Compare these two canalside properties in London and Leeds, and you can see why moving to Leeds is a great choice financially.

But bringing your startup to Leeds isn’t just about the money, it’s also about the established tech and digital networks we already have here. Leeds is number five in the Barclays Prosperity Index, with the joint highest proportion of female entrepreneurs; Yorkshire also had the second biggest rise in the number of new businesses. It’s a great place to grow your business.

Come and visit

Come to Leeds and visit existing digital companies, find out more about office and personal accommodation, as well as the social side of Leeds.

If you like Leeds, let’s talk more about how we can help you move. If moving isn’t right for you, then let’s talk anyway about working together; after all, we’re only two hours away.
